Dr. Richard Paschal, inventor of the mDrive™
Necessity
The technology that led to the founding of Dynamic Magnetics is the brainchild of Dr. Richard Paschal, an industrial engineer, dentist and prolific inventor with patented inventions ranging from medical devices to lasers to operatory architecture. Upon being diagnosed with diabetes and having to prick his figure multiple times per day, Dr. Paschal quickly became frustrated with the inability of lancing devices to maintain consistent penetration depths due to the inherent limitations of spring-powered technology.
Realizing that spring-powered devices of all types lose power and precision because springs degrade with use, Dr. Paschal turned to a cost-effective alternative power source renowned for its inherent consistent, durable and precise performance: magnets.
Dr. Paschal then conceived a magnetic mechanism of revolutionary simplicity, which became the mDrive™. He quickly created a lancing device, addressing his original problem. Then, realizing his grandchildren's need for a better emergency epinephrin auto-injector, he created a universal auto-injector and has developed multiple additional medical and safety applications.
Recognizing the genius and broad applicability of Dr. Paschal’s technology, a multi-disciplinary team founded Dynamic Magnetics to commercialize the mDrive™.
